Getting Involved

146-4674sm_IMG.JPG

The Yarmouth Town and County Crime Prevention Association (YTCCPA) is a community consultative group formed in 1991.  It was formed to bridge a communications gap between the RCMP and the various communities.

The original members were representatives from the RCMP and business persons representing their various communities.  This group was then extended to include the general public who represented their communities.

Volunteer your time

YTCCPA volunteers are able to voice their concerns and have these concerns addressed.
These concerns, as example, could be a request for more Police Patrols, concerns relating to speed limits or perhaps a hazard that has not been rectified.

The YTCCPA volunteers meet on the last Wednesday of every month except July, August and December.  To become a volunteer one has only to attend the meetings.

I do not have time to volunteer, what else can I do?

Every Yarmouth County resident must commit to make crime prevention his or her responsibility. A Yarmouth County that is safe is in everyone's best interest. Effective crime prevention is not the exclusive domain of the RCMP; it is a community undertaking that involves the public at large. You have a role to play and you can make a difference. Read through our website and educate yourself on proactive ways to protect your property, your love ones and your community.
